As cold winter temperatures produce less than ideal conditions outside such as icy roads or partially frozen ponds, it is important to take extra precautions not to put ourselves or our loved ones at risk.
While we can encourage family members to drive with caution and warn our children of the dangers of walking on thin ice, we can not really tell our pets what is unsafe during the cold months. It is up to us to stop them from walking in dangerous outdoor situations, and show the story of one puppy exactly what can happen when we lose track of them up for a moment.

On December 3, firefighters rushed from the current SWIFT fire department in Saskatchewan, Canada, to a local creek after the dog was stuck in frozen water. The puppy was working off the leash when the owners saw it fall through the ice. Thankfully, they immediately called for help.

Firefighters who came out on ice almost fell into the same, but with the help of others, finally managed to pull the dog to safety. Watch the rescue below.
