It looks as if aliens made these strange markings in Mesa Huerfanita, New Mexico, but it was actually done by something a bit more creepy than extraterrestrial life.
These symbols were actually done by Scientologists. According to the Washington Post, “The symbol marks a ‘return point’ so loyal staff members know where they can find the founder’s works when they travel here in the future from other places in the universe.” Don't worry Scientologists, no one wants to go to your secret places, so you're safe.
S.S. Jassim was once the largest shipwreck visible on Google Earth.
Unfortunately, due to it finally sinking off the coast of Sudan in December 2003, the shipwreck is no longer visible on Google Earth. But at least we still have the images of it!
