In a reassuring way, the old Kasbah seemed cleaner and less congested than he remembered from a previous visit to Morocco 10 years ago. It is intriguing to see that outside the old town, Tangier flourished, with a forest of modern buildings.


After collecting my spices, there was still a shopping item on my list. I had to explore the pottery district and bargain for one of the kitchen utensils in the form of tepees called tajines. There were thousands stacked on a long street and I did not have to do much bartering (traders speak Arabic, French, Spanish and English) to get a beautifully decorated decoration for the equivalent of around 10 Canadian dollars.
