Incredible moment a mother giraffe manages to shake off the lion that is attacking her only to see him pounce on her CALF as she flees

This is the incredible moment when a giraffe mother manages to get rid of a lion that has been thrown over her.

A film captured on November 27 in Maasai Mara, Kenya, shows the giraffe standing on her calf when a lion catches them.

The lion passes in front of the family and the giraffe begins to beat its tail from one side to the other.

The giraffe turns to look at the predator and begins to move away, letting the viewer think he has changed his mind.

But then the lion runs around the back of the giraffe and throws himself at the mother's hip.

She manages to hit him and the mother and baby start running away.
